Kanpur: A 22-year-old man died and his friend was critically injured after their speeding sports bike crashed into a road divider near Saraimita in Panki on Sunday evening, police said.
Both men were dragged along the road for a considerable distance after the collision, according to Aditya’s family. Aditya Rathore, a resident of Machhariya village in Naubasta police station area, and his friend Ashish , a Naubasta resident, were returning home around 7pm when their bike went out of control. Passersby alerted police, who took the injured men by ambulance to a nearby private hospital. Doctors declared Aditya dead, while Ashish was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital in critical condition. Police sent Aditya’s body for post-mortem. Police were investigating the cause of the accident and would take action based on the investigation if the family submitted a complaint or made any allegation.
