NFL Trade Rumors (Via X)
Washington’s situation is the clearest example, with Marcus Mariota hurt in Week 4 while Jayden Daniels remains out. Teams have until Tuesday, November 10, at 4 p.m. Minnesota got only a fifth-rounder from New York for JJ McCarthy, a former top-10 pick.
Seattle, Chicago, New York, Washington, Tampa Bay and Minnesota have all lost a starter for stretches. NFL teams have a month of football behind them, and quarterback injuries are already shaping the trade market. That has put backups on shopping lists, including Cleveland’s Shedeur Sanders, Dallas’ Sam Howell and Atlanta’s Tua Tagovailoa. Veterans like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Khalil Mack are also named. Eastern to make a move. The price is the problem. Sanders was a fifth-round pick with little NFL experience. That tells you where the market sits. Plenty of teams need a quarterback, yet no premium price has shown up.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox wrote that if Atlanta trusts Penix, Tagovailoa is “the most expendable player on the roster” with real trade value. Graziano wrote that people around the league see Harrison as someone who “isn’t a fit in an Arizona offense” that leans on Trey McBride. Atlanta’s Tagovailoa is a tougher read. The former Dolphins passer was meant to reset his career with the Falcons, and it has gone badly. He looked poor in limited preseason work and missed the start of the season with an injury. Cutting him was floated, but with Michael Penix Jr. back, he looks safe as the backup for now. Bijan Robinson and Drake London are not going anywhere, so he is the logical name. Timing matters here. A team that loses its starter in early November will pay more than one shopping now, and sellers know it. The deadline gives teams about five weeks to sort it out. Quarterbacks are not the only names. ESPN’s Dan Graziano listed Arizona receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and Chargers pass rusher Khalil Mack among early trade candidates. He also noted the Cardinals have shown no sign they want to move him. Outside interest and Arizona’s willingness are two different things.
