To weed out fake faculty members
Following the physical inspection of colleges, Anna University did not give affiliation to any course in 10 engineering colleges this year for not having required faculty members, facilities such as labs and classrooms. Further, the university also took action against 54 engineering colleges by not giving one to five courses for not meeting the norms.
After uploading the faculty details, the institute shall furnish the website details or link to Anna University for verification and monitoring,” the university said in its circular to all colleges. College principals are requested to upload the faculty details within the stipulated time, failing which suitable action will be initiated against the college as per the statutes of the university,” the circular said. “The university is planning to seek the details of faculty members every month to ensure the faculty members shown during the physical inspection are working in those colleges,” Anna Univeristy registrar (incharge) V Kumaresan said.
“The institute shall ensure that the faculty information published on the website is accurate and complete in all aspects. “The names and details of faculty members who have been relieved from the institute shall be removed from the records, and the same shall be informed to the university.
Chennai: To weed out fake faculty members, Anna University has decided to monitor the faculty strength of all 420 engineering colleges throughout the year. The university has asked all engineering colleges to upload the department-wise faculty member details on the official website of the institution on or before Oct 9. The colleges were asked to upload the faculty images with Anna University’s 10-digit faculty identification number, AICTE identification number, and name and designation on the official website.
