Lucknow: A 25-year-old man was allegedly shot in the leg after being called to Flix Square in Sushant Golf City for a discussion linked to a dispute involving his woman friend, police said on Sunday.
The incident was reported through Dial-112 at around 7:48 am. Based on Adarsh’s complaint, an FIR was registered at Sushant Golf City police station under Sections 115(2), 109(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Doctors said he was out of danger, said ADCP South Vasanth Rallapalli. Police said the woman later informed a youth known to her in Jaunpur about the argument. She then contacted his friend, who told her that Adarsh was unconscious after consuming several beers, as per the preliminary findings. Police said an argument broke out at the location, after which the youth and his associates allegedly assaulted Adarsh and shot him in the leg before fleeing. Senior officers inspected the scene, while a forensic team collected evidence, the ADCP said. Police teams have been formed to trace the accused, CCTV footage from the area is being examined, and raids are being conducted at suspected locations, police said.
The injured, identified as Adarsh Singh, a native of Jaunpur currently living in Gomti Nagar Extension, was taken to Medanta Hospital after the incident. A police team reached the spot and rushed Adarsh to hospital. She tried calling Adarsh early on Sunday but could not reach him.
Adarsh was in a relationship with a woman from Jaunpur, according to the preliminary police investigation. After the dispute, one of Adarsh’s friends dropped the woman at her room, police said. The two had an argument over an issue on Saturday night.
