Hyderabad: The Director of Intermediate Education has cancelled the appointments of 35 junior lecturers after a fresh verification of educational certificates found that the degrees submitted by them for regularisation were not genuine. The certificates were found not to have been issued by the universities concerned.
Of the 37 lecturers who were issued notices, 35 have now figured in the list of lecturers whose appointments were cancelled after their explanations failed to satisfactorily address the findings. The orders were issued by the Director of Intermediate Education, which works under the Board of Intermediate Education, on Oct 1. In one case, the appointment of a junior lecturer in English at a govt junior college in Nirmal was cancelled after the university confirmed that it had not issued it.
The lecturers have been working in govt junior colleges across Telangana and include those teaching English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, civics, commerce and Hindi. The department examined his explanation but rejected it, noting the university’s denial of the certificate’s issuance and genuineness.
