NEW DELHI: The body of a 10-year-old boy who had gone missing from his home in Delhi’s Bawana area was found in a forested area near a cemetery, with injury marks on his hands and legs, police said Tuesday. Around 3 pm on Monday, police received a PCR call about the body of a child lying in a blood-soaked condition in the Narela Industrial Area.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination and police are awaiting the report to ascertain the cause of death, an official said. Crime and forensic teams were also called to the spot and evidence was collected, police said. The exact cause and circumstances of the death will be clear after the post-mortem examination, police said.

A police team reached the spot and recovered the body. The family searched the surrounding areas and asked several people about his whereabouts. When they could not trace him, a missing person report was lodged with the police.

The boy, identified as Intzar, was reported missing on Sunday after he was last seen playing in a lane near his home in Bawana, police said.
