Kanpur: A Class XI student allegedly killed his grand-aunt with a sickle and injured

Kanpur: A Class XI student allegedly killed his grand-aunt with a sickle and injured his grandmother and 11-year-old sister in Kanpur on Wednesday, police said. He was arrested after being overpowered by his grandfather.

The attack occurred around 1.30 pm when the boy allegedly struck his grand-aunt on her head and other parts of her body, killing her. Because he believed that his house and land would otherwise have passed to him, he told police that the accused resented the adoption. Hearing her screams, the boy’s grandmother entered the room and raised an alarm. The accused allegedly attacked her also before tying her hands and feet with a rope. Hearing the commotion, his sister also reached there and raised an alarm after finding their grandmother injured and lying with her hands and feet tied up. The accused allegedly injured his sister’s face with the sickle and tied her also with a rope. The accused then tried to strangle her. Police arrived at the house and detained the accused. Circle officer Alok Kumar Singh also reached the site and gathered information from his grandfather’s brother. The brother of the accused’s grandfather had adopted daughter of his wife’s brother during her childhood as he had no child. An FIR would be registered after a complaint was received. All aspects were being investigated by the police.
