The police obtained an arrest warrant from the court under section 72 of BNSS against Gumane, as he remained at large. After the hearing, HC noted Gumane’s limited role in the attack as alleged and granted anticipatory bail on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 10,000 with one surety and complying with conditions including cooperation with investigation, non-interference with witnesses, police station attendance and travel restrictions including depositing his passport. one of the co-accused was arrested and later detained under PASA after being released on bail While he was not arrested.
Ahmedabad: Gujarat High Court granted anticipatory bail to Krushnakant Gumane, who is a wanted accused in an attempt to murder case registered with Sardarnagar police station in Ahmedabad. Gumane and others were accused of an attempt to murder, assault, creating nuisance and abetment.
Gumane approached HC for anticipatory bail through advocate Tejas Mehta and submitted that custodial interrogation was not necessary in the case. He assured the court that he would remain available during investigation and trial and would comply with all the bail conditions imposed. It was also submitted that there was no overt act attributed to him when the co-accused allegedly attempted to attack the victim with a knife. In fact, he arrived at the crime scene later.
