Kanpur: A 35-year-old man allegedly died after being assaulted by his father and three brothers over a land dispute in Ganjmuradabad town of Unnao’s Bangarmau Kotwali area on Wednesday morning.
Officials questioned family members and launched an investigation.
The deceased, Pappu, had been involved in a land dispute with his father, Murtaza, and his three brothers for the past six months, according to police. Police said Pappu was allegedly attacked with sharp-edged weapons outside his house, causing critical injuries. Police said the postmortem report would establish the exact cause of death and the nature of the injuries.
After noticing severe injury marks, family members informed the police and alleged murder. Bangarmau circle officer Harsh Modi, the Bangarmau inspector and the in-charge of the Ganjmuradabad police outpost reached the spot with a police team. Police inspected the scene, took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem examination.
Police said an argument broke out between the two sides late on Tuesday and escalated into a physical altercation. He later succumbed to them on Wednesday morning. Local residents gathered on Wednesday morning after his body was found outside the house.
