A statement said the govt had earlier made provision for a one-day Navratri event at these sites. The celebrations will be held at Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan in Banaskantha, Bahucharaji Mata Temple in Mehsana, Unai Mata Temple in Vansda, Modheshwari Mata Temple in Modhera and Umiya Mataji Temple in Unjha. However, considering the faith and sentiments of devotees, Sanghavi decided to extend the celebrations to all nine days of the festival. The approved amount will cover the garba programmes, artists’ fees and other expenses. The initiative aims to provide devotees from across Gujarat an opportunity to experience the state’s folk traditions and cultural heritage alongside religious observances during the festival dedicated to the worship of Shakti, the statement added.
