Ahmedabad: A 33-year-old divorcee who runs a production house in Gota has accused her former boyfriend of threat and assault. The accused, who is a businessman running modelling schools and has a large social media following, wanted the complainant to cut ties with two women who are their mutual acquaintances, according to the FIR registered on Oct 3.
The attack occurred outside a residential society in Vastral late on Oct 2 soon after the three women had submitted an application with Ramol police against the businessman and his associate over the threatening call to the Gota producer earlier in the day. Police inspector S N Chudasma said the complainant and the businessman had parted ways 18 months ago after a five-year relationship.
Police said the two mutual acquaintances were also involved with the businessman. Police said a preliminary investigation shows the businessman was not present at the spot during the alleged assault. There was an argument over her refusal. Late that night, the three women submitted the application. As the complainant reached Vastral to drop one of the women home, two men allegedly confronted them over the application. One of them rained blows on the complainant and hit her with sticks. The assailants fled after locals gathered after hearing her cries for help.
