Kanpur: A man accused a primary school teacher of raping his 7-year-old daughter in Banda on Oct 8. He submitted a complaint at Badausa police station on Sunday evening.

The man alleged in his complaint that the teacher took the girl, a Class 2 student, to the school’s office room around noon on the pretext of fetching water and raped her. He and his wife had left on Oct 6 for a pilgrimage to Maihar Devi on foot, while the girl stayed at home with her grandmother and aunt. When the couple returned on Oct 10, the girl reportedly disclosed the incident to her mother.

Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal said police had received a complaint against the teacher. The matter was under investigation and further action would be taken based on the facts that emerged, he said.
