Kalyan : A 70-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his 32-year-old son at their residence in the Pisavli area of Dombivli on Friday morning, reportedly after the man developed suspicions about his wife’s alleged extramarital relationship with father.
The incident took place around 11.30 am when the accused allegedly attacked his father with a sharp weapon while he was asleep, killing him on the spot, police said. Police have registered a murder case against the accused under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Sandipan Shinde, senior police inspector of Manpada police station, said, “Primary probe revealed that accused learning about his wife’s extramarital affairs with father for last few days was having dispute with father resulting killing and further probe is on.
Both the father and son worked as construction labourers, according to police. The accused’s wife had reportedly gone to her native village. He allegedly suspected that his wife was involved in an illicit relationship with his father, which is believed to have led to the fatal attack. Personnel from Manpada police station rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The accused was apprehended and the weapon allegedly used in the attack was seized.
