Agra: Six people were killed and 14 others injured after the pickup truck carrying them rammed a stationary truck parked on the roadside on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway in Haryana ’s Palwal district early Tuesday.

Tragic Accident Claims Lives of 20 Pilgrims in Uttar Pradesh

A devastating accident occurred involving 20 passengers from Mainpuri district, all related, who were returning from a religious pilgrimage to the Khatu Shyam and Balaji temples in Rajasthan. They were en route to Vrindavan and Mathura in Uttar Pradesh when the incident took place. The deceased have been identified as Vijay Chanda, 70, Rajkumar, 40, Reshma Devi, 45, Kamala, 65, Sudha, 50, and Mahesh, 55, all of whom were farmers.

News of the tragedy reached Mainpuri early Tuesday morning, prompting relatives and neighbors to gather at the victims’ homes, anxiously seeking updates on the injured and deceased. Vineet Yadav, who arrived at the crash site shortly after hearing the news, tragically lost six family members, including his father Vijay, brother-in-law Rajkumar, and neighbors Kamla, Reshma, Sudha, and Mahesh.

“A case under the relevant BNS sections, including 106 (causing death by negligence), has been filed and a team has been sent to trace the driver and the truck.

Sadar Palwal SHO Hari Krishan told TOI that police and emergency teams reached the spot after passersby informed them about the accident. Further investigation is on,” he said. Bodies have been handed over to the families after autopsy. Prima facie, the driver might have dozed off, leading to the crash.
