Ahmedabad: A group of men allegedly broke into a homeopath’s flat on Sindhu Bhavan Road and emptied it of goods worth Rs 9.6 lakh. The accused allegedly replaced the main door and later used a goods vehicle to cart away furniture, appliances, clothes and other belongings. They later called up the homeopath, claiming they took away her stuff to recover money owed by her brother.
The complainant identified the accused and told police that the men broke into her flat on May 23 while the family was away. The alleged theft came to light on June 9, when the family returned to find the flat’s main door replaced and locked. She further alleged that the group had visited her previous residence in Vadodara on May 31. She approached Atladara police on June 1 in connection with the alleged visit.
