A man and his alleged lover were arrested on Friday for allegedly strangling his wife

Sangeeta and Rohitji had been married since 2012 and have four children. A relative subsequently lodged a complaint, following which Sector 7 police registered a murder case against both accused. The woman was allegedly killed for objecting to their relationship. Her husband, Rohitji Thakor, and his alleged lover, Varsha Pargi, allegedly conspired to eliminate her. Rohitji, a resident of Ogan village in Viramgam taluka of Ahmedabad district, had moved to Gandhinagar to prepare for competitive examinations, while his wife and children stayed in their native village. The case was registered under BNS sections pertaining to murder and criminal conspiracy.

Ahmedabad: A man and his alleged lover were arrested on Friday for allegedly strangling his wife with a handkerchief at their rented accommodation in Sector 4A of Gandhinagar , police said. Sangeeta Thakor was allegedly strangled before 6am on Thursday at plot in Sector 4A, according to the police complaint. Police arrested Rohitji and Pargi on Friday.

The accused allegedly strangled Sangeeta while she was asleep. The family was subsequently informed that she had consumed poison and was being taken to hospital. However, she was declared dead on arrival. Marks on her neck raised suspicions about the circumstances of her death.
