A transfer camp for head teachers being shifted on administrative grounds will be organised on Oct 28, based on the sanctioned staff strength and applicable govt rules. Ahmedabad: Gujarat directorate of primary education has issued a circular regarding the administrative transfer of head teachers serving in govt primary schools across the state.
Head teachers posted at schools where the post is currently filled but is not admissible as per the student strength as on July 31, will be considered for administrative transfer, according to the circular. The exercise will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the education department’s resolution dated July 20, 2024. Because their schools no longer qualify for a head teacher post based on the prescribed student-strength norms, the directive applies to head teachers across districts who have become surplus. The administrative transfer camps are therefore expected to be conducted across the state on Oct 28 following the prescribed norms.

The authorities have also been instructed to organise the transfer camp within the prescribed schedule and strictly according to the sanctioned staffing pattern. The concerned district primary education officers (DPEOs) and administrative authorities have been directed to conduct the transfer process for eligible head teachers working under district and municipal education committees. The move is aimed at rationalising the deployment of head teachers in govt primary schools in line with approved staffing requirements. The joint director of education has also issued specific instructions regarding posts involved in pending court cases. If high court has directed that a particular post be kept vacant through an interim order and the final judgment is still pending, the concerned authorities must take action strictly in accordance with the court’s directions.
