Ahmedabad division records Rs 26.4 crore rise in revenue: The wider industry impact

In August 2026, the Ahmedabad division of Western Railway reported a total revenue of Rs 804.6 crore, reflecting a year-on-year increase of Rs 26.38 crore, or 3.4%. This compares to Rs 778.20 crore earned in August 2025, indicating a positive trend in financial performance for the division.

Freight remained the biggest contributor, with the division loading 4.5 million tonnes of goods and generating Rs 631.3 crore, up 6.13% year-on-year. Parcel services contributed Rs 7.17 crore, exceeding the monthly target by 9% and rising 14% over last year. Ticket-checking activities generated another Rs 2.5 crore, 21% higher than Aug 2025. The terminal at Bhimasar generated Rs 9.9 crore, Deendayal Port Trust Terminal Rs 6.3 crore and Wadhwa terminal generated Rs 18.5 crore.
