Ahmedabad: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel will on Thursday inaugurate two major traffic infrastructure projects, Rs 127.9 crore four-lane Vadaj junction flyover bridge and Rs 98.6 crore four-lane railway overbridge (ROB) at Makarba, built over the Ahmedabad-Botad railway line. This will be part of the ‘Seva, Sankalp and Samarpan Abhiyan’, under which development projects worth Rs 583.9 crore will be inaugurated or launched on Thursday. In all, six projects worth Rs 279.8 crore will be inaugurated, while foundation stones will be laid for six projects estimated at Rs 304.1 crore. The inaugurated projects also include 329 of the 1,190 EWS housing units constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at TP Scheme No. 39 in Thaltej. The chief minister will dedicate 15 First Response Vehicles procured for Rs 19.7 crore and 10 boats with engines costing Rs 3.4 crore for emergency and disaster-response services. Besides, 108 housing units and 46 shops constructed at a cost of Rs 7.9 crore under the in-situ rehabilitation project for the ‘Pakhaji no Kuvo’ slum area in Shahibaug will be dedicated. Among the projects to be launched are road network development worth Rs 72.9 crore in Ramapir No Tekro area, rehabilitation of 1,800mm drainage lines in Amraiwadi and between Nagarvel Hanuman Temple and Guruji Bridge, and new drainage pumping stations at Vatva and Navana.

Foundation stones will also be laid for AMTS/BRTS bus charging stations at Nikol and Kathwada, a bus depot/terminus at Tragad, a charging station near SP Ring Road and a Tourism Temple Circuit Project along the east bank of Sabarmati. As part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, Patel will participate in a cleanliness drive at Ghuma followed by a student drawing competition on cleanliness at MK Patel Anupam Primary School.
