Because of deficient rainfall, in reply, minister Rushikesh Patel said that CM has directed the administration to provide additional water to all areas where there is a demand.
“The govt must immediately announce drought in parts where rainfall is deficient,” he said. “The energy department has also been providing two hours of additional electricity in such areas,” he added. Gandhinagar : The state unit of Congress party has demanded that drought be declared in parts of the state with deficient rain this monsoon.
Earlier, during question hour in the assembly, Chavda raised the issue of deficient rainfall and asked the govt whether it intends to declare drought in rain-deficient parts of Gujarat. Speaking at a ‘Jan Aakrosh Dharna’ in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, Congress MLA Amit Chavda said that several parts of the state have received deficient rainfall and farmers are facing a distress situation.
