In Ahmedabad, a woman from Chandkheda has lodged a rape complaint against a man she was in a five-year relationship with. She alleges that he engaged in a physical relationship with her under the pretense of marriage but subsequently married another woman. The complaint was filed at the West Women Police Station, highlighting issues of trust and consent in relationships.
The woman first connected with the man through Instagram , according to the complaint. She told police that she repeatedly asked the man to marry her, but he kept delaying the issue. Their interaction gradually led to an exchange of phone numbers and a relationship. The woman later learnt that the man had married another woman. During the counselling, however, the accused allegedly refused to marry her.
She had previously approached the women’s police station, following which the two were counselled.

The woman disclosed her relationship to her family, who supported her decision to marry the accused. Parmar was a regular visitor to her home. During a trip to Mumbai with the accused and his father, the accused allegedly suggested they engage in a physical relationship. Initially, the woman declined, stating she would only consent after marriage. However, the accused reportedly reassured her of his intentions to marry her and subsequently initiated a physical relationship, including encounters at her residence, as she alleged.
