Gandhinagar : Gujarat govt on Thursday decided to set up a special committee headed by additional chief secretary of the revenue department Jayanti Ravi to examine the long-pending demands of revenue department employees, including their key demand for revision of grade pay.

Vaghani said the committee would hold detailed discussions with employee representatives and coordinate with various govt departments to work towards a permanent and long-term resolution of their demands. He said govt wanted to address the issues in a manner that would prevent similar complications from arising in the future. The decision was taken during a meeting in Gandhinagar between govt representatives and office-bearers of the Gujarat State Revenue Employees’ Federation. The meeting was chaired by govt spokesperson Jitu Vaghani and attended by minister of state for revenue Sanjaysinh Mahida and Jayanti Ravi. The move comes amid an ongoing strike by revenue department employees over various pending demands, which has affected routine revenue administration work across the state. Download the TOI App.
