Gujarat: Revised classification of talukas under industrial policy

Gujarat government has announced a revised classification of 268 talukas across all 34 districts into two categories under its Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy-2026, seeking to provide greater clarity on incentives for new industrial units and expansion of projects while promoting investment across different regions.

The revised classification, announced by the industries and mines department, places 130 talukas in Category A and 138 in Category B. Category A talukas are lesser developed than category B talukas. The exercise takes into account the creation of new talukas and the provisions of the new industrial policy, an official statement said on Sunday.
