Indian police have arrested a 23-year-old man during a recent enforcement operation aimed at maintaining law and order. This incident highlights ongoing efforts within the criminal justice system in India to address crime and enhance public safety.
Ahmedabad : Vatva police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly stealing mobile phone accessories from the basement area of Geeta Mandir Bus Stand and recovered stolen goods worth around Rs 30,000 from him. During interrogation, Ansari allegedly confessed to stealing three cartons containing mobile phone covers, four music speakers of different sizes, a car charger, a recording microphone, 25 boxes of tempered glass and six plastic bags filled with mobile phone covers. Investigators said a theft case was registered against him at Danilimda police station in 2023 and another at Vatva police station this year.
The arrest was made by the Vatva police surveillance squad during a patrol. The accused, identified as Abdulkadir Ansari, a resident of Insaniyatnagar in Vatva, allegedly committed the theft around 4am on Saturday, police said.
