ITBP personnel who died in accident
Bengaluru: A 46-year-old member of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) succumbed to injuries after his motorbike rammed into a wrongly parked tractor by the side of the road near Kanakapura in Ramanagara late Monday night. The deceased is DS Channaveeragowda, a resident of Shivanahalli village in Kanakapura. Channaveeragowda, who was stationed in Belagavi, had come home on a fortnight’s leave on Sunday, according to police.
He and his 14-year-old son were riding back to town for dinner when his motorbike rammed into the tractor from behind.
Channaveeragowda was shifted to a private hospital, where he died early Tuesday morning,” an investigating officer said. “Channaveeragowda’s family has built a new house in Kanakapura town. Other commuters on the road called us and when we reached the spot, the tractor driver had escaped with the vehicle.
On Monday night, Channaveeragowda and his minor son were riding from Shivanahalli to Kanakapura when the accident took place, police said.
