Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis
Some schemes have already been announced, and at some places the guardian minister and MLAs have even approved them.
He said, “Many of these issues can be resolved. We will act on all the memoranda received, and we will also try to implement the good suggestions that have come in. “
Fadnavis was speaking to reporters in Nagpur after meeting sarpanches of the taluka earlier in the day. Nagpur: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said PM Narendra Modi’s approach towards farmers and the poor was the inspiration behind his Diwali stay with farmers in Lohari Sawanga village of Narkhed taluka, a visit that Modi had appreciated.
Responding to a question on the PM’s praise for his village stay initiative, Fadnavis said, “I thank Modi ji for appreciating this. Explaining what he draws from the PM, Fadnavis said, “Modi ji constantly deals with the poor, the deprived, farmers and the disabled with great affection. ” Linking PM Modi’s approach to help the downtrodden to results, Fadnavis said, “The result is that 50 crore people in India have come out of poverty, as a World Bank survey has just said.
In fact, all this inspiration comes to us from him. He takes up their issues on priority. That is why we too get the inspiration to do all this from his conduct. This is the PM’s sensitivity, from which we learn, and we also try to do as much as we can with the same sensitivity.
Turning to the issues raised during the two-day visit, Fadnavis said he met farmers on Saturday night and the taluka’s sarpanches on Sunday, and that matters ranging from farming and village needs to roads, farm access roads and ponds came up.
He said, “In Vidarbha we are now doing the Wainganga-Nalganga river-linking project, and 10 lakh acres of land will come under irrigation through it. Land of 21,000 acres in the area where we are now will also come under irrigation.”
Describing how the meetings went, Fadnavis said, “Farmers and sarpanches have raised their issues with great insistence. Fadnavis said, “Staying with them gave me encouragement and confidence, and I learned many things from them. On a lasting answer to drought, Fadnavis said water conservation works have to be taken up on one side and river-linking projects on the other.
We have listened to everyone and have not stopped anyone. After hearing everything calmly and taking everyone’s memoranda, we will try to find the best way out and give whatever help we can. On the family he stayed with on Saturday night, Fadnavis thanked Rambhau and Arunabai Balpande for their hospitality and said the drought has hit their orange, cotton and soybean crops, adding that all three account holders in the family have benefited from the loan waiver.
