AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran on Tuesday called on Tamil Nadu Governor R V Arlekar and submitted

AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran calls Tamil Nadu Governor R V Arlekar on Tuesday.

“It has been over 100 days since the TVK came to power through horse-trading. A minister made a remark in the assembly that 10 more MLAs are waiting to join the TVK,” he said. He also sought action against the Guindy police for not registering an FIR on his complaint filed on May 8.

Dhinakaran said his efforts were aimed at exposing the “Thuya Sakthi” govt’s alleged anti-democratic approach of luring elected representatives of various parties, which he said amounted to disrespecting the people’s mandate and undermined democratic principles in the state. This is totally against the people’s mandate and shakes the foundation of democracy,” Dhinakaran said after submitting the representation. The governor told me he would take action as per the legal provisions.

We want to put an end to this practice as some MLAs have resigned and subsequently turned in favour of the ruling party. “Horse-trading is still happening. “I met the governor to expose the person who claims to represent ‘Thuya Sakthi’ and reveal the truth. The AMMK leader urged the governor to initiate action against assembly speaker J C D Prabhakar for allegedly failing to act against Mannargudi MLA S Kamaraj, who contested on AMMK’s Cooker symbol, under the provisions of the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution. Dhinakaran asked why an FIR had not been registered while the state police acted immediately on a similar complaint filed by legislators of the ruling party.

CHENNAI: AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran on Tuesday called on Tamil Nadu Governor R V Arlekar and submitted a representation seeking his intervention in the alleged horse-trading of his party MLA by the ruling TVK.
