Chennai: A 61-year-old autorickshaw driver from Vyasarpadi died by suicide on Saturday night. In a video later found on his phone, the man talks about his debts and the financial distress auto drivers face. He also appeals to the govt to revise meter fares. The video has since been widely circulated among auto drivers.
Kodungaiyur police recovered his body and sent it to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital for postmortem examination.
