Chennai based-Raasi Builders lowest bidder — CM Vijay's office renovation tenders

The PWD had floated three separate tenders for interior works in blocks 1, 2 and 3 of the office on the 10th floor, with a combined estimated project cost of Rs 5.54 crore. Raasi Builders quoted Rs 1.66 crore for block 1 against the estimated cost of Rs 2.41 crore, Rs 1.37 crore for block 2 against Rs 2.01 crore and Rs 74.94 lakh for block 3 against Rs 1.12 crore. The contractor will carry out work at Rs 3.78 crore which is about 32% lower than the estimated cost.

Officials said the award of contract would be finalised soon. CHENNAI: Chennai-based Raasi Builders has emerged as the lowest bidder in all three tenders floated by the public works department for renovating chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s sea-facing office at Namakkal Kavignar Maligai. Four contractors, including Raasi Builders, took part in all three tenders. The other three contractors who participated in the tenders were Eswari Constructions, M Cube Infra and Shri Raghavendra Builders. A fifth firm, Yudek Engineering, was disqualified at the technical evaluation stage in all three tenders. The scope of work includes interior design and related works for the chief minister’s workspace and the conference hall on the 10th floor. Download the TOI App.
