The launch of the online indent system, which was supposed to be rolled out earlier this month, has been postponed by another 10 days. However, in the latest circular from Tasmac, managing director K Nanthakumar has stated that the system will roll out from Sept 10 with a detailed ‘how-to’ to all workers in retail shops. Supervisors can increase certain brands only upto 20% before placing the orders.
The indent will be verified through OTP verification, so that the management will know who placed the orders and make them accountable for any discrepancies. Chennai: Yet another proposed reform in Tasmac has been delayed. Tasmac officials cited internal factors such as recent protests from contract staffers as the reason for the delay in rolling out the system. But it is not the first of the proposed reforms that has been delayed. The licences of bars attached to Tasmac shops have been extended twice under TVK govt, with the liquor corporation yet to float tender conditions with radical reforms. Similarly, the empty liquor bottle collection scheme has also been pushed for another month, since the tender is yet to be finalised. Under the online indent system, the supervisors of each liquor shop can only electronically place orders using the handheld devices given to them to replenish stock and the manual indent will be done away with. The Tasmac app in the device will automatically generate indents based on the real-time sales. The district managers cannot make any changes in orders.
