Chennai: CPI state secretary M Veerapandian on Wednesday urged Karnataka govt to immediately implement the Cauvery Water Management Authority’s (CWMA) order directing it to release 9,000 cusecs of water daily to Tamil Nadu for 15 days. The direction to release 9000 cusecs of water to TN was issued at the 56th meeting of the Cauvery Water Management Authority held in Delhi on Tuesday under the chairmanship of S K Haider. The orders should be implemented immediately,” Veerapandian said. Veerapandian said he welcomed Tamil Nadu govt’s decision to approach Supreme Court against Karnataka’s failure to comply with the orders and seek their implementation.
