New Delhi: A businessman’s family vacation abroad was cut short after he was informed that cash, gold and jewellery had allegedly been stolen from his home in north Delhi ’s Timarpur. The prime suspects are two of his domestic helps, who allegedly had keys to the house, and have been untraceable since the incident.
Police said that they had not yet assessed the total value of the missing items, but reportedly, there were claims that valuables worth around Rs 2 crore had been stolen. Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo was present on the night of the alleged burglary. The burglary came to light when the businessman’s relative, who lives in another portion of the same building, reached the residence and found the doors open and the rooms ransacked. Upon entering, he found cupboards open, and cash, gold and jewellery kept inside were missing. Following a complaint by the relative, a police team examined CCTV footage from the apartment and surrounding areas.
