New Delhi: A junior engineer at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been suspended over the demolition of an upcoming cow shelter in Kanjhawala, chief minister Rekha Gupta said Monday. Disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated.
“Junior engineer of MCD in the case involving animal welfare activist Jagriti Mishra has been suspended, and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated,” the chief minister said. Any misconduct established through the proceedings will invite strict action,” she said. During Sunday’s meeting, Mishra told the chief minister that some local men claiming to be associated with the local councillor had threatened her against constructing the gaushala on the land in Nijampur village.
“Public office carries a responsibility to serve citizens with sensitivity and integrity. Our govt is committed to examining every complaint fairly and following due process. She alleged that the upcoming cow shelter was subsequently demolished on the instructions of a junior engineer.
