A 21-year-old woman was found murdered in her Tilak Nagar home.
NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old woman was found murdered inside her home in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar Wednesday evening.
She was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen and other parts of her body, police sources said. Police said the woman and the suspect had known each other for about one-and-a-half years. Her parents seemed unaware of her friendship with the trainer, an officer said.
The suspect, who is a gym trainer, has fled. Police were alerted about the murder through a PCR call. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. There was tension in the locality as the woman and the man suspected of killing her belong to different faiths. There is heavy police deployment in the area. Police are trying to scan the woman’s phone for leads.
“A woman, around 21 years of age, was stabbed to death when she was alone at her residence.
CCTV footage is being examined and police investigation is under way,” a senior police officer said. Multiple teams have been formed to nab the suspect. Police have raided the gym and the home of the suspect and questioned his family and friends.
