New Delhi: Delhi’s power discoms have rolled out a ‘Tatkal’ service for temporary electricity connection facility, allowing organisers of Durga Puja , Ramlilas, Diwali melas, weddings and other festive events to get power connections within 24 hours, provided they complete all formalities and comply with technical feasibility.
BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL), which together supply electricity to over 54 lakh consumers, have also introduced the Tatkal service across their respective areas. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL), which supplies electricity to around nine million people in north Delhi, said organisers can apply for temporary connections at its customer care centres at division offices. They can also apply and make payments online through the discom’s website. Zonal offices are keeping meters available for quick installation after submission of the application and demand note. Consumers can apply through the BSES website, BRPL Power App, BYPL Connect app, WhatsApp, customer care centres and call centres. Download the TOI App.
