The plan is expected to be ready by February 2027, with feedback being gathered to shape the route network. (AI image) Surveys are underway in different parts of the city to gather passenger feedback. In the east zone, 121 routes are being prepared for feedback, while 181 routes are being covered in the west zone and 194 in the north zone. An integrated route plan will cover different forms of public transport. The objective is to avoid multiple modes operating on the same route or in the same area, while improving the use of available services and ensuring better connectivity across different parts of the city. (AI image) The route rationalisation exercise has been assigned to IIT Delhi. Passenger surveys are being conducted across different parts of Delhi as part of the process. Other public transport availability will also be considered. (AI image) On corridors where metro connectivity is already available, the number of buses and parallel routes could be reduced. The resources freed up through this process could then be used to improve connectivity in areas where public transport is required. (AI image) The next stage will focus on reorganising e-rickshaw routes. E-rickshaws and autos are planned to provide last-mile connectivity in areas that are not served by buses or the metro, helping connect these areas with the wider public transport network. (AI image) Anand Vihar, Hazrat Nizamuddin and New Delhi, along with several other railway stations, are planned as integrated multi-modal transit hubs. These hubs will bring different public transport modes together, aiming to provide commuters with more convenient connections. (AI image)
