Police said permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar had to be sought at least 10 days in advance, citing a Supreme Court directive and Delhi Police standing orders. The Delhi Police has denied permission for the October 10 protest, while Das has said the organisers had submitted an intimation and would cooperate with the police.
Sharing a post showing Congress workers blocking the Connaught Place outer circle, Das said the government was “solely responsible” for the situation. “The government is solely responsible for this. By not allowing people to protest at Jantar Mantar, the DESIGNATED PROTEST SITE, it is ensuring that entire Delhi becomes Jantar Mantar. So be it! Das posted on X. CJP has been demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar and raising objections over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
