CJP leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, and Saurav Das were placed under preventive arrest by Delhi Police
CJP’s legal head Ratna Singh, in a post on X, said the three leaders would be produced before the executive magistrate at Delhi Cantt Police Station at 9am. “Abhijeet, Ashutosh and Saurav will be produced before the Executive Magistrate at Delhi Cantt Police Station at 9 AM today,” Singh wrote, adding that a Delhi Police official had informed her about the development that morning. She said she would be present at the police station along with other advocates representing the party.
Delhi Police had denied permission for the proposed demonstration, citing law-and-order concerns, public safety and possible inconvenience to residents. The party had planned to demand Kumar’s resignation and the scrapping of the SIR exercise.
The action came before the planned protest, with police personnel entering the aircraft to take the leaders into custody. NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and party leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das have been placed under preventive arrest and will be produced before an executive magistrate at Delhi Cantt Police Station on Saturday, Delhi Police said. Dipke, Ranka and Das were detained by Delhi Police after their Delhi-bound flight from Mumbai landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday.
