Delhi commuters should brace for possible traffic issues on October 13 due to a recent protest that caused significant disruptions in various central areas
NEW DELHI: Commuters in the national capital may face traffic disruptions at several locations on Tuesday, October 13, as Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory citing the prevailing law-and-order situation. The police said traffic restrictions and diversions could be introduced depending on ground conditions and urged motorists to avoid non-essential travel through affected areas.
In its advisory, Delhi Traffic Police said traffic movement could be affected at various locations across the city during the day, with arrangements to be adjusted according to the situation on the ground. The traffic police said dynamic diversions and restrictions could be implemented as required. Motorists have been asked to follow diversion signs, comply with directions issued by traffic personnel and cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth movement. Commuters have also been urged to avoid non-essential journeys through affected areas and use Delhi Traffic Police’s official channels for real-time updates and assistance. The advisory comes a day after a Congress-led INDIA bloc march towards the Supreme Court over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s removal disrupted traffic across central Delhi. Traffic police advised commuters to use Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Mathura Road as alternative routes.
