In a post titled “A personal clarification”, Akriti said she had allowed people close to her to influence how she viewed Shaw and their relationship. Akriti said the two have since had honest conversations, understood each other better and decided to reunite. “Together, we are enough for each other, and we don’t need anyone else,” she wrote.
Shaw later shared her statement on his Instagram story. Her latest statement confirms that they have reconciled, although neither has publicly explained all the details behind their separation and reunion.
She also took responsibility for the hurt caused by her earlier decision and asked people to respect their choice. Akriti confirmed their reunion through an Instagram statement on Monday, admitting that other people’s opinions had influenced her decision to end the relationship.
The 26-year-old rose to prominence after captaining India to the Under-19 World Cup title in 2018 and scoring a century on his Test debut against the West Indies later that year. He moved from Mumbai to Maharashtra ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season in search of a fresh start and scored 222 against Chandigarh in the Ranji Trophy last season. However, injuries and inconsistent performances have kept him away from the national team.
