The project, bringing residential accommodation and specialised training infrastructure together, also marks a shift from seasonal sports facilities, an official said, adding that the financial approval has been given by Delhi govt. It would be completed by next April. Both wings will be separately secured. An additional practice swimming pool will facilitate concurrent – resistance and aerobic or cardiovascular training – coaching. Two gymnastics training halls, including single- and double-height spaces, will be located on the first floor. The centre will also function as a centre for excellence for swimming. The complex will have a centralised solar power generation plant, an underground water tank and dedicated pool filtration plants, besides a 40KL D sewage treatment-cum-effluent treatment plant. Other infrastructure includes a high-definition CCTV security system, electricity sub-station and a backup DG set. Residential facilities will also be provided to budding athletes undergoing football, basketball, handball, volleyball and athletics training at other govt centres in the vicinity.
