New Delhi: Delhi govt will start 53 development projects worth Rs 214.1 crore in unauthorised colonies in five Assembly constituencies that will focus on improving roads and drainage.
The work will be in areas plagued by the lack of basic infrastructure for years, the CMO said.
The work is expected to benefit around 1.75 lakh residents.
Gupta said roads and drains are basic requirements and her govt would work to ensure the service reached every lane of Delhi. PWD and water minister Parvesh Verma said development would not remain confined to main roads and would reach the unauthorised colonies. Social welfare minister Ravindra Indraj Singh said adequate attention had not been paid to the development of Kirari during the previous govt’s tenure.
Chief minister Rekha Gupta Sunday laid the foundation stones for these projects under the Seva Sankalp campaign. The areas in focus are Kirari, Bawana, Mundka, Narela and Nangloi Jat.
