New Delhi: Delhi Police has registered an FIR after a head constable was allegedly manhandled by a group of people in west Delhi ’s Tilak Nagar while he was on duty.

The head constable, who was in plain clothes, was recording video footage of the proceedings in the area when he was allegedly surrounded, confronted and manhandled by the group, according to police. Police said further investigation is underway. Following the incident, the policeman was taken for a medical examination. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the confrontation and verifying the sequence of events. A case has been registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to obstructing a public servant in the discharge of official duties and assaulting a public servant.
