Delhi Police raids UP locations in hunt for Rs 2.3-cr robbery suspects

The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

New Delhi: Delhi Police has launched raids at several locations in Uttar Pradesh after investigations revealed that the last known locations of the suspects involved in the Rs 2.3-crore robbery in north Delhi’s Lahori Gate area were traced to the neighbouring state, police sources said.

Sources said the suspects were seen fleeing towards Uttar Pradesh after carrying out the robbery Wednesday morning. The suspects reached the vicinity of Old Delhi Railway Station after the robbery, where a getaway car had allegedly been parked in advance, according to police sources. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, purportedly showing the men walking away after committing the crime. A few suspects have been detained for questioning, sources added. Investigators suspect the vehicle was used to escape from the area. Police teams are analysing CCTV footage, questioning suspects and examining other evidence to establish the sequence of events and trace the remaining accused.
