Police said Solanki had coordinated with his associates to target Khatri. Police further said Solanki and two shooters had conducted a recce of the temple about a week before the firing. Following the incident, Solanki allegedly tried to flee to Dubai but could not escape, police said. Earlier, gangster Naveen Boxer had allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post, according to police.
New Delhi: Delhi Police’s crime branch has arrested Deepak Khatri, a member of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi ’s legal team, from Indira Gandhi International Airport for his alleged links with arms suppliers. He was apprehended in connection with an investigation into a weapon trafficking racket busted by the crime branch. The cops have found some alleged links of Khatri with that racket. Khatri was produced in court and taken on remand for interrogation. His legal team denied the charges in court. Khatri then noticed two to three youths on a two-wheeler chasing their car. He drove away and stopped near a hotel in Civil Lines, where he informed the police about the incident. During the investigation, police identified the alleged attackers as Rohit Solanki and Sagar Malik.
Shehhbaz Ansari, one of the traffickers, was arrested earlier. On the day of the attack, Solanki identified Khatri to the shooters before the group opened fire.
