New Delhi: Hours after a DTC bus killed one man and injured four others, another DTC bus claimed the life of a motorcyclist in a separate accident in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj Saturday.
A similar incident had occurred Saturday, in which a DEVi bus had crushed two scooters at a T-point in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat, killing a 40-year-old man and injuring four others. The driver, Renu Bala (26), fled the spot after the incident and was apprehended later in the evening.
Police said the bus allegedly involved in the incident has been seized, and efforts are under way to apprehend the driver. Pramod Malik, a resident of Haryana, worked as a cab driver. He was travelling from his home in Masoodpur towards Mahipalpur when the incident occurred. He was struck by the bus near Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj and was subsequently taken to AIIMS trauma centre, where doctors declared him dead. An FIR has been registered under sections relating to rash driving on a public way and causing death by negligence as per BNS at Vasant Kunj south police station. No response from DTC was received. The bus was allegedly vandalised by locals.
