New Delhi: Delhi govt has approved the establishment of Delhi Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (D4C) as a composite nodal agency of Delhi police to prevent, detect and investigate cybercrimes across the National Capital Territory.
D4C will function as the apex cybercrime institution, supporting districts and specialised units in tackling cyber threats. Its activities will be aligned with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of home affairs. The rapid expansion of digital platforms in banking, e-governance, education, commerce and social media has been accompanied by a proliferation of cyber-enabled financial fraud, online radicalisation, harassment, crimes against women and children, cyber sabotage, ransomware and public-order disruption. D4C’s key responsibilities will be coordination with central agencies, other states and Union Territories, regulators, financial institutions, telecom service providers, online intermediaries and other stakeholders.
