A man was fatally stabbed early Sunday morning in Mayur Vihar Phase 3
NEW DELHI: A man was allegedly stabbed to death in Mayur Vihar Phase 3, under the jurisdiction of the New Ashok Nagar police station in the east Delhi area early Sunday, police sources said. A security guard at a nearby housing society told police that he saw two men attacking the victim with a knife around 5am, news agency PTI reported, according to preliminary information. The guard later informed police about the incident, news agency ANI reported.
The incident took place near a Durga temple, in front of a local MLA’s office, they said. The guard attempted to intervene and drive the attackers away. However, they allegedly assaulted him and also tried to attack him. Police reached the spot and found the victim injured. He was subsequently declared dead.
Efforts are underway to identify the victim and the accused.
