New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has launched a pilot drone-based GIS and 3D digital survey to modernise property tax assessment and improve the accuracy of property records, officials said Tuesday.
It will also enable comparison of declared and actual built-up areas and ensure more uniform assessment based on built-up area, number of floors and property use,” an official said. The first phase will cover Rohini F Ward in Rohini Zone and Gharoli Ward in Shahdara South Zone. The survey will use drone imaging, aerial surveys, LiDAR mapping, GIS technology, AI/ML analytics, geo-tagging and 3D modelling to create an integrated property database. “The survey will help identify unassessed and under-assessed properties, duplicate or incorrectly mapped records, and additional floors or constructions missing from existing records. The initiative is aimed at reducing reliance on manual inspections and improving transparency in property taxation, the official added.
