New Delhi: Delhi University has suspended three LLB students and barred them from entering any DU premises following an FIR lodged in connection with the alleged harassment of two Hindu College students in Mukherjee Nagar on Sept 23.
The notices state that the action has been taken under Clause 3(e) of Ordinance XV-B of Delhi University Act, 1922, and approved by the university’s competent authority. On the evening of Sept 23, the two women students were allegedly followed by the men in a white Tata Safari near Mukherjee Nagar. Naman, Abhinav Kumar and Abhimanyu Kumar, all students of Law Centre-II, have been suspended and their entry has been barred with immediate effect, according to notices issued by the office of the proctor Monday. The men passed comments at the women, abused them after they objected and subsequently followed them, with an attempt to pull them into the vehicle, according to the complaint. The women recorded part of the incident, following which the men allegedly fled. Police have registered an FIR and arrested Abhinav and Abhimanyu, while Naman, who is absconding, has been identified as allegedly driving the vehicle. Download the TOI App.
